BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Asaba the Delta state capital have been witnessing an increase in commercial activities. This has led to lots of limited space for shopping activities especially for traders who need lockup shops for businesses hence Mr Eddy hired the services of Ebeko Construction Ltd who in turn hired CHii Arkeetects for a Design and Visualization of a proposed shopping complex.

All floor plan conceptualization was done by Arc. Kelly while all visualization and Elevations was designed by Valentine Chiamaka

DESIGN INFO

This Shopping Complex design is an open design concept where each lockup shop opens to a terrace or balcony. Architect Kelly’s Ideas was to create the most cost effective and tropical design for the client. Hence, he opted for the normal Nigeria tropical Design with a small torch of contemporary feel. To achieve this, pitched roof design was used to enhance the flow of rain water, while Aluco metal Board cladding was used to improve the contemporary nature of the building.

To make it stand out from other building, Valentine Chiamaka added perforated metal cladding in the stairs area to give it variety and uniqueness.

MATERIALS

Due to the commercial nature of the proposed building, attention had to be given to the type of colour used for the construction. Ebeko Construction has a signature use of colour which are Grey and White. To make it more commercial, Arc. Kelly opted for the use of Orange Colour Aluco Boards
